Safety
For use in unoccupied areas only. The Sonozaire Model 5G produces ozone levels that exceed safe limits for occupied spaces. Rooms or vehicles being treated must be vacated during operation, and re-entry should be delayed until ozone has reverted back to oxygen — typically 30 minutes to 2 hours after the unit shuts off.
Never use near flammable gases or liquids. Flammable vapors drawn into the unit's air intake or electrical components can ignite, creating a fire or explosion risk.
Post warning signage. Any room or vehicle being treated should have a visible notice indicating ozone treatment is in progress and that the space must not be entered.
Protect sensitive materials before treatment. Ozone will degrade natural rubber (latex) over time. Remove or cover rubber items, pets, fish tanks, live plants, and irreplaceable items such as paintings before running a treatment cycle.
Designed for indoor use only. The 5G is intended for indoor applications and is not rated for outdoor or weather-exposed installation.
Follow exposure limits. OSHA permits a maximum of 0.1 ppm ozone averaged over an 8-hour period; the FDA limit for continuously occupied spaces is 0.05 ppm. Levels above 5 ppm are considered immediately dangerous to life and health.
Maintain proper electrical grounding. Always use a grounded, three-prong outlet. Never cut or remove the ground prong from the power cord.
